A BOURNEMOUTH based pizza restaurant is opening a beachside pop-up bar and restaurant on the beach at Eastcliff this weekend.

El Murrino restaurant on Old Christchurch Road will be opening a new pop-up dining experience on the East Cliff-stretch of Bournemouth promenade on Saturday.

The company, which first opened in 2011, has jumped at the pop-up bar and restaurant initiative launched earlier this year by BCP council.

The new beach pop-up have two VIP areas including a top deck above the container.

A family-affair, the team only started work on the boutique family dining experience last Wednesday and hope to be open on Saturday following their hygiene inspection.

An exciting addition to our stunning stretch of coastline, the pop-up restaurant will serve food and drinks to walk-in customers and you can also book for a more 'VIP' experience.

The 'VIP' seating is sectioned off from the main bay of 50 tables and there is even a top deck area above the large turquoise containers which offers amazing views across the bay.

Having only been given the space last Tuesday events organiser at El Murrino, Catherine El Murr said: "It's been crazy logistically to get the pop-up ready and as a family-run business everyone's been involved with helping and we've got a really good team.

"We're so excited to welcome everyone into our relaxed beach restaurant and can't wait for the summer, we just hope the weather continues to hold out."

The independent restaurant will have a varied menu to suit everyone with items including pizza, salads, burgers, fish and chips and more.

They are licensed to serve food and drinks so customers will need to have a meal when they visit the pop-up.

Their restaurant on Old Christchurch Road has a laid-back ambience, which is something Catherine said they think will suit their new chilled beach front location.

If all goes to plan El Murrino's beachside pop-up will open from Saturday and diners can visit seven days-a-week between 10am to 10pm.

The restaurant will be open throughout the summer until September 24.

Booking will not be essential and the tables will work on a first-come first-served basis, but if you would like to book for this weekend you can call 01202 022333.
