AFTER the lowest temperature for April since 1922 and the wettest May on record, which would obviously affect bus users, and now seeing that summer has arrived with an influx of visitors, the yellow bus Number 12 route between Hengistbury Head and Alum Chine has now been drastically reduced by omitting the section from Hengistbury Head to Boscombe pier.
It is the most scenic part of the route along the overcliff taking in views of Swanage and the Isle of Wight.
Missing out Hengistbury Head completely with its nature reserve, its visitors centre, the 3.7 mile circular walk, the walk to Mudeford Spit or along the River Stour to Christchurch or Tuckton, not forgetting the cafés available, is a travesty.
Will common sense ever return?
