A GALLERY in Dorset is to host an outdoor antiques roadshow style valuation day and exhibition to mark the return of in-person viewings.
James Harvey, founder of The Auction Hub, has put together a weekend offering that will showcase art and auctioneering as part of Dorset Arts Week.
The Auction Hub will be hosting its celebratory weekend of art and culture at The Glebe Gallery, near Shaftesbury, on May 22 and 23 from 11am to 4.30pm.
“We’re delighted that the easing of Covid restrictions has enabled us to carry out, and even build on, proposed events from last year,” said Mr Harvey, a sponsor of the Dorset Arts Week, was instrumental in moving this showcasing of local talent online at very short notice.
As well as afternoon tea in the garden, visitors can expect a threefold immersive arts experience, starting with the ‘Drawing on Dorset’ art exhibition - a selection of over 26 works made in, of and about Dorset.
Attendees can also take part in an online Dorset Art Weeks auction, ‘From the Studio’, and have the opportunity for a free expert appraisal and valuation of precious personal items by Auction Hub specialists.
All items are welcome for a free, first-hand inspection and, where they might be too large to bring, a photograph will suffice in their place.
