AS WE travel full steam ahead into carnival season, things will likely feel very different this time around.
Aside from the fact the weather is unusually cold for this time of year, social distancing will no doubt put a dampener on the few carnivals that will still be going ahead.
With this in mind, the Daily Echo looks back at when Brockenhurst residents would have crammed the streets and parks in support of the village's carnival.
These pictures were taken almost twenty years ago on August 27, 2001 and show people having all manner of fun.
From colourful floats to fancy dress, marching bands to water pistols – the day was enjoyed by thousands.
