FEWER than 10 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Dorset, according to the latest figures.

The latest Government figure shows eight new cases were recorded across Dorset within the latest 24-hour period up to Thursday, May 13.

Only two new cases were recorded in the Dorset Council area. Since March 2020, there has been 11,946 Covid-19 cases confirmed across the Dorset Council area.

The number of coronavirus cases over the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area is 38 cases, with a case rate is 10 per 100,000 people.

There were six new cases recorded across the BCP Council area during the same period. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in this area now stands at 25,435.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP is 48 cases, with a case rate is 12.1 per 100,000 people.

In the New Forest, there was one new coronavirus cases recorded within the last 24-hour period.

The seven-day period for New Forest is 21, with a case rate of 11.7 per 100,000 people.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the area is now 6,223.
