I AM profoundly deaf and I have spent the last year endeavouring to lip-read through masks.

There are now 11 million the UK with hearing problems [two million with seeing problems].

I read repeatedly that "everyone has a computer/smart phone".

I have .. "Everyone" hasn't.!

I have repeat NHS prescriptions and after 20 years without a hiccup they have been wrong every 56 days [including today] ever since a 'new system' was introduced about two to three years ago.

Yesterday I checked the bus-stop timetable of the next Yellow Bus from Cheseldene Drive to the town centre. In teeny-weeny print at the bottom "Effective from 30th May 2021".

One of my several careers was in retail banking. In 1957 I said of one customer: "He's always complaining."

My lovely manager, Mr Perkins responded: "In that case, Mr Walker, we will all have to endeavour to see he doesn't get the opportunity in future, mustn't we"?

Would that were the case today.
