WHAT makes the prosecution (persecution by any other name) of members of the armed forces for alleged criminal action while on active service even harder to stomach, is the fact that under the Good Friday Agreement hundreds of known terrorist criminals on both sides of the Northern Ireland troubles were granted lifelong immunity from prosecution for their murderous activities.

It is nothing less than disgraceful that the Blair government, under which the agreement was signed, could not have shown as much concern for our loyal soldiers as they did for terrorists.

Hundreds of veterans who put their lives on the line in the service of this country have had their lives made a living hell for decades after being sacrificed by successive governments on the altar of political expediency and spineless army chiefs – Judases by any other name.

That much-trumpeted ‘Covenant’ between the Government and the Armed Forces, which recognises that the entire country has a moral obligation to members of the armed forces and their families has a very hollow ring to it.

Good Friday Agreement? Poppycock! More of a Bad Friday Betrayal.

Perfidious Albion indeed!

Ashamed and disgusted,
