STAFF were busy on set at a Dorset quarry as preparations continue ahead of filming for a new Star Wars TV series.

The site at Winspit Quarry, near Worth Matravers, has been taken over by a production crew.

The activity is for a television series in the iconic franchise, which is expected to air on Disney+.

On the afternoon of Monday, May 10, multiple mini-buses were taking staff and props to and from the set, while security guards were dotted around guiding people away from the quarry, which looks out on the sea.

Bournemouth Echo:

Nothing could be seen to give away any secrets to what was being filmed.

A truck was pulling the lighting fixtures around and it was hinted that filming was starting “soon”.

As reported, the Echo understands that the filming is for a new Star Wars TV series, likely to be Andor, which will serve as a prequel to 2016’s Rogue One and focus on the early formation of the Rebellion.

Bournemouth Echo:

The Disney+ series has already started filming in England, with lead actor Diego Luna and stormtroopers spotted filming on a beach in Cleveleys, Lancashire.

Filming is expected to take place over the next couple of weeks.
