Police have stepped up patrols following complaints about bad parking outside several schools across the BCP area.

They include St Josephs School in Christchurch and St Peter's secondary school in Southbourne.

Many drivers have been stopping on zigzag lies outside school gates or parking on double yellow lines at drop-off and pick-up times.

A police spokesman said: "We appreciate this is an issue everywhere so please think about your parking for your child's safety and everyone else's.

"Anti-social parking is an increasing issue and puts the safety of children and others at risk. To all those collecting children from school - please don't break parking laws and restrictions."
