FIRE CREWS were deployed to the cliff overlooking Bournemouth beach after receiving reports of billowing smoke seen in the area.
From Springbourne were sent out to investigate the reports at 1.34pm on Sunday May 9 and, as they arrived on the scene, found a fire was burning on the cliffside.
After extinguishing the blaze, the firefighters returned to the station.
A spokesman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: “A fire crew from Springbourne was sent to investigate a report of smoke in the vicinity of East Overcliff Drive in Bournemouth.
“They discovered a small fire on the cliff and quickly extinguished it.”
