MANAGER Ralph Hasenhuttl again reserved praise for “lively” Nathan Tella and insisted his finishing prowess would improve with more experience.
The talented forward proved a threat to the Liverpool backline during Saints’ 2-0 defeat on Merseyside.
He had a glorious chance to open his account for Saints at senior level during the opening period but saw his header fall straight into the clutches of home stopper Alisson from close range.
The former Arsenal youngster has now gone 20 first-team games without opening his account for Saints.
Asked about Tella’s wait to get off the mark, Hasenhuttl replied: “His finish is definitely – the level can be better.
“It’s what you learn over the years when you are a professional player.
“You learn this with all the sessions you have there.
“He was again a very lively part in our game, really. Absolutely brave, always a threat for them and I must say it was a good game.”
Tella was brought off by Hasenhuttl after 66 minutes of the defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side. Michael Obafemi came on in his place.
