A MAN has come forward to police following an alleged racially aggravated incident on Bournemouth seafront.

The incident occurred at around 9am on Thursday April 22 near to Boscombe pier.

The victim - a man in his 50s - asked the culprit him to stop kicking his dog.

After issuing an image appeal, a Bournemouth man in his 30s has come forward and said to be aiding police.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “It was reported that a man was racially abusive to two members of the public after one of them challenged the man over the way he was treating his dog.

“Following an image appeal to identify a man who officers wanted to speak to in connection with the incident, a Bournemouth man aged in his 30s has come forward and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

“No arrests have been made.”
