I WRITE in to Bournemouth Echo in support of the climate protestors who recently demonstrated in Dorset towns from Weymouth to Christchurch.

I applaud these protestors having the courage of their convictions.

Those who trouble to pay attention to world climate science understand the evidence is overwhelming. We will be overwhelmed by massive climate change and instability in coming years.

We have to have seminal mind-set changes. We should have had seminal mind-set changes thirty years ago.

Look then into what BCP council has on offer to counter world climate instability, rising ocean levels, melting ice caps, ever rising carbon levels, and what do we have: beryl bikes.

And suggesting we grow our own food. And for instance advising we check if we are in a flood zone.

A complete and utter joke.

The first thing Tory cabinet Cllr Greene did when they regained power last autumn is declare: “If there were any attempt to reopen the Navitus proposal, I will strongly urge BCP to challenge that.”

And so it is the position of BCP Tory run council. A 900MWatt wind farm that could make a major contribution reducing carbon output is outlawed. In its place we get beryl bikes.

BCP council could not be clearer. We will do nothing.

We wont mass plant trees in their tens of thousands. We wont support a wind farm for our enormous conurbation.

But we will muster up maximum numbers to hit out town this summer, irrespective of the “lull” in Covid, with then more mass pollution.

And round this off with yet again a mass pollution air show.
All these are the reasons why people in all age groups are getting more and more desperate, every year.
