JUST 11 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows, in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday, seven cases were confirmed in the BCP Council area.

It means, since the start of the pandemic, 25,355 cases have beenm confirmed in BCP.

The Dorset Council area recorded four new cases, taking the total to 11,893.

In the seven days leading up to April 27, 62 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 15.7 per 100,000 people.

The rolling rate in Dorset was 10.6 after 40 cases were confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, one new case was confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,193.

The rolling rate stood at 13.3 after 24 cases were confirmed in the week before April 27.
