A MAN sustained a broken jaw and attended hospital after two men assaulted him in Bournemouth.

At around 7pm on Saturday, April 24, a fight broke out in the area of The Fiveways in Green Road in Charminster.

A man was reportedly acting anti-socially when the victim approached him. The victim, a Bournemouth man in his 20s, was then punched in the face before a second man punched him in the head,

He sustained a broken jaw and attended hospital for treatment. He is continuing to receive ongoing medical care.

Two men, aged 21 and from Bournemouth, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

One of the men was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

And police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective constable Steve Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: β€œAn investigation is underway and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries, including checking CCTV and carrying out house-to-house visits.

β€œI understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please get in touch.”
