Illegal camp fire on bowling green is latest incident following prolonged dry weather
AL ILLEGAL camp fire was discovered when firefighters were called to a bowling green.
A crew from Wareham was alerted at 6.07pm last night and used an aquapack to put out the flames on the bowling green off Edward Crescent.
Safety advice was given to those involved.
Fires in the open at Matchams and Moors Valley County Park
The fire is the latest in a series of incidents following a period of prolonged dry weather across Dorset.
Heathland and woodland has been damaged at Avon Castle, Verwood, Bearwood, Canford Heath, Moors Valley Country Park and Matchams in recent days.
