EXACTLY 20 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 14 cases were recorded in the BCP Council area in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Tuesday, taking the total to 25,309.

The Dorset Council area recorded six new cases over the last 24 hours, taking the total to 11,868.

In the seven days leading up to April 22, the latest rolling seven-day period, 61 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 15.4 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area had a rolling rate of 11.4 with 43 cases confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, three cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,183 since the start of the pandemic.

The rolling rate was 15 per 100,000 people after 27 cases were confirmed in the week before April 22.
