IT WAS quite a shock to read that former lead singer of the Bay City Rollers, Les McKeown, has died at the age of a mere 65 years.
A couple of friends and I use to run a busy mobile disco in the early 1970s and during that era the Bay City Rollers were a huge hit with the teeny-boppers.
They were one of the bands you could not dislike, even if their music was not quite to your own taste.
Looking back now, you realise how young they were and indeed extremely brave.
Les was slightly younger than we are. That also makes you realise, life can be cut short too soon.
