FIREFIGHTERS have worked through the night to bring a woodland fire in Ringwood under control.
Crews from Wareham Fire Station were called at 3.31am last night, and the station’s Unimog was deployed to a small, wooded area near St. Leonards.
Approximately 1.2 hectares of forestry and shrubbery are believed to be affected.
Five appliances are now in attendance, including the Unimog and two landrovers, and crews remain on site and continue to dampen down the area.
A spokesman from Wareham Fire Station said: “At 3.31am this morning, the Unimog has been sent to Saint Leonards to a fire in some woodland.
“We are still in attendance of an ongoing woodland fire at St Leonards this morning with the Unimog and other fire crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.”
