THE Manor Farm Holiday Centre at Charmouth has been given permission to demolish a toilet block and create two new bases for static caravans.

Parish councillors supported the application but asked if surface water from the site could be connected to the drainage system, rather than soakaways.

The site is to the eastern side of Green Pit Knapp, an unclassified road to the south of the A35 and has 29 pitches for static caravans with an access drive which forms a circular route around the site.

Dorset Council planning officers were told that the dilapidated toilet block, on the south western edge of the site, has not been used for some time and is in a poor state of repair.

It will be replaced by two 12x5m concrete bases for static caravans similar to those already in use on the site.

An officer report concluded that the application would result in a minor intensification in the use of the site, but overall removing the old toilet block, would approve the appearance of the area
