FEWER than 25 coronavirus cases were confirmed across Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 21 cases were confirmed in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Monday.

The BCP Council area recorded nine new cases, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 25,238.

In the seven days leading up to April 14, the latest rolling seven-day period, 54 cases were recorded, giving a rolling infection rate of 13.7 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area confirmed 12 new cases, taking its total to 11,822.

The rolling infection rate was 10.8 per 100,000 with 41 positive cases in a week.

Elsewhere, one case was recorded in the new Forest, taking the total to 6,153.

The rolling infection rate was 14.4 per 100,000 with 26 cases confirmed in the week before April 14.
