DOZENS of protestors have again gathered in Bournemouth town centre as part of the Kill the Bill movement.

Demonstrators are speaking out in opposition to the proposed Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill.

They fear the bill could restrict the right to peaceful protest and are campaigning to stop it getting through parliament.

This afternoon the protestors congregated at Bournemouth Square with placards and banners.

Residents that are part of the Stand up to Racism Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole attended, with a banner which said "refugees and migrants welcome here" and "no to Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, Black Lives Matter'. Others present were flying flags for Unite the Union.

Some protestors raised hand-made signs which referenced 'Kill the Bill' and 'Black Lives Matter', with one banner reading "defend our right to peaceful protest, kill the bill" and another saying "We will not be silenced".

Police officers were present, watching the protest which appeared to be peaceful.

The protest is the latest in a series held around the country since the bill passed its second reading in parliament last month.

The most high-profile events have been held in Bristol where protesters have clashed with police on several occasions.

If passed, the bill would allow police chiefs to put more conditions on static protests, including imposing a start and finish time as well as setting noise limits.
