ONLY one person has died with Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals since the beginning of April.

The government’s latest update showed no further people died with Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals.

The last death in the county came at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust on April 8, taking the trust’s total since the start of the pandemic to 733.

Before that, the last death came at the Dorset County Hospital on March 31, taking the hospital’s total to 111.

A total of 73 people have died at the Dorset Healthcare Trust with the virus, the last coming a month ago, on March 14.

In hospitals across England, a further 26 Covid-19 patients died, taking the total to 86,658.

The deaths date back to April 3 and two came in the south west, meaning 4,487 people have died in the region with the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
