FIRE crews rushed to Verwood on Monday to deal with a small heath fire.
Crews from Verwood, Cranborne and Ringwood attended the Stephens Castle nature reserve to tackle the blaze.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Stephens Castle nature reserve, Verwood at 2.32pm yesterday for a small fire involving approx. 10m x 5m of heath.
“We sent two fire engines, from Verwood and Cranborne, together with a water carrier from Ringwood and a small 4x4 appliance from Verwood.
“One hose reel jet and beaters were used to extinguish the fire; the stop came at 2.57pm and all crews had returned to home station by 4pm.”
The cause of the fire was unknown.
