A MAN and a woman have been arrested following an altercation which left the female with a facial injury.

Witnesses reported seeing a large police presence in High Street in Poole on Saturday evening.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 8.28pm on Saturday, April 10 at an address in High Street, Poole.

“Officers attended the address and it was reported that a woman had attended the premises, caused damage to the property and was subsequently involved in an altercation with a man who was known to her.

“A woman aged in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and taken to hospital for treatment to injuries, including a facial injury. The injuries are not life-threatening.

“A man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is assisting officers with their enquiries as an investigation into the incident continues.”
