A MAN aged in his 80s attended Westbourne Dental Practice in a “confused” state, causing concern for his welfare.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.57am on Saturday, April 10, that a man believed to be aged in his 80s attended the Westbourne Dental Practice in Alum Chine Road.

He appeared confused and claimed he had an appointment but the dental practice had no record of this.

The man gave his name as Francis Morris but could not remember his address and left the scene prior to police arriving.

And police are appealing for help to identify the man involved.

He is described as white, tall and of slim build and was wearing a burnt orange zip-up jacket, grey trousers and brightly-coloured socks.

Chief Inspector Matt Baxter, of Dorset Police, said: “We are concerned for the welfare of this man and are keen to locate him to ensure he is all right.

“We have made enquiries but have not been able to identify anyone of the name of Francis Morris in the local area who is unaccounted for or missing and it could be that the man gave a false name as he was confused.

“I would urge anyone with information as to the identity of this man, or who sees someone matching the description given, to please contact us immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email to 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 10:118.
