A MAN has been arrested after being found in possession of a knife with cuts on his hands.

A man was seen with a knife at an address in Holdenhurst Road and it was reported there was blood at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a large armed police response in Holdenhurst Road on Saturday morning.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 4.27am on Saturday April 10 relating to a man seen in possession of a knife at an address in Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth.

Bournemouth Echo:

“It was reported there was blood at the scene and the man in possession of the knife had left the premises.

“Officers attended and carried out searches of the area. Following enquiries, it was reported a man had been located in Wellington Road at around 8.45am in possession of a knife and with cuts to his hands.

“The man been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening.

“An investigation is ongoing into the incident and to establish whether there are any further injured parties outstanding.”
