A NEW convenient store is to open on Ashley Cross in Poole on Thursday, bringing with it 15 new jobs to the local community.

The opening of the Coop store in Parkstone follows a £533,000 investment by the  food retailer.

The new 2,108 sq ft store runs on 100% renewable energy and is open from 6am-10pm, seven days a week.

Sara Jackson, Co-op Store Manager, said: “We’re really excited to launch the new Co-op store in Ashley Cross.

“The store has a fantastic modern look and a great range of products – the team and I are very much looking forward to serving the local community.”

Shoppers are able to stock up on their everyday essentials and find new favourites with a wide range of fresh produce, hot food, award-winning wines and Fairtrade products available.

To make sure there’s something for everyone, customers have a variety of free-from and vegan items on offer too.

The store also has a bakery and a Costa Coffee Express machine and is at the heart of the town’s high street.

Contactless card payment limits are increased to £45 - making it easier, quicker and safer to shop.

Co-op Area Manager Steve Brown added: “Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally.

“We have worked hard to develop a store with range, choice, products and services that create a really compelling offer and help us meet the needs of customers and members in Ashley Cross.”
