A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injuries in a four-vehicle crash near Christchurch this afternoon.

Police were called to Parley Lane, near the junction with Merritown Lane in Hurn, at 1.20pm.

Now they have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

The vehicles involved were a black Seat Arona, a grey Kawasaki motorcycle, a grey Vauxhall Astra and a black Citroen DS3.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service. The rider of the motorcycle – a Bournemouth man aged in his 60s – was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment to injuries that are believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.

There were no further reports of any injuries.

Road closures were put in place as emergency services responded to the incident and carried out an examination of the scene.

Police Constable Gavin Newbury, of the traffic unit, said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

"I would urge any witnesses to the incident itself, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please come forward if you have not already spoken to police.

"I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance."
