POLICE investigating a fight involving 150 people at Sandbanks have appealed for anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward.

As reported in the Daily Echo, a man suffered serious injuries and a police officer was spat at during the incident in the Tesco Express car park in Shore Road on Thursday April 1.

Dorset Police, the NPAS helicopter and ambulance crews were all called to the incident at 10.36pm. The area was cleared by 1am the following morning.

Glass bottles were thrown during the incident and two police officers sustained minor injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Poole was detained in connection with assaulting emergency services workers, but he was later released and taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries to his head and hand.

A section 35 dispersal notice was issued ordering people to leave the area until 8am on Friday April 2.

Police Constable Jenny Walsh, of Poole police, said: "There were a small number of people who attended hospital for treatment on the night of Thursday April 1. I would also like to hear from anyone else who was injured and has not yet contacted police.

"II understand this incident was filmed by members of the public on mobile phones and I would ask anyone with footage to please get in touch."
