A man sadly died after he was hit by a train between Weymouth and Dorchester.
Police confirmed the incident happened last week and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The man was hit by the 10.23pm South Western Railway service from Bournemouth to Weymouth and died at the scene between Upwey and Dorchester.
The line was closed while an investigation was carried out.
The incident is being handled by British Transport Police (BTP).
A BTP spokesman said: "We were called to the line near Dorchester at 11.23pm on Wednesday 31 March following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
A spokesman for South Western Railway said: "We are sorry to confirm that a person was struck by a train on the evening of Wednesday 31 March between Dorchester South and Weymouth. The British Transport Police attended the incident.
"Only one service was impacted by the incident, and we arranged taxis to help affected customers complete their journeys."
