Work at Europe’s leading cruise turn-around port continues on target for the port’s open access and next generation ready terminal to welcome the world’s largest ships in summer for the 2021 cruise season. The terminal is in need of a name befitting to its significance to the city and the future of cruise.

The new terminal will join the line-up of four other world-class cruise terminals in the port, which are named Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal, City Cruise Terminal, Ocean Cruise Terminal and Mayflower Cruise Terminal.

Alastair Welch, Regional Director at ABP, said: “We’re really proud of the leading role we play in the global cruise industry and we’re hoping that past and future cruise passengers, members of the travel trade and local community can help us to name our new terminal.

“We’re looking for the terminal to have a name befitting to the city and the future of cruise and to connect to the city’s rich heritage and fascinating history. It would be great for a piece of the city’s future to have a strong link to its past.

“We share the cruise industry’s long-term ambitions for the future and we look forward to welcoming cruise back to Southampton later this year.”

The cruise terminal is currently being built in the port’s Western Docks at 102 berth and will be equipped with shore power and ready to welcome the world’s biggest ships from summer 2021.

For your chance to win a 7 night cruise for 2 departing from Southampton in a balcony cabin, simply submit your name suggestions for the new terminal before the closing date of April 28, 2021.

  • Submit your name suggestions here.

ABP will choose a name for the new terminal from all of the entries received. Suggestions will be considered based on their relevance to Southampton’s heritage, culture and history as well as ‘fit’ with the other four terminals.
