FEWER than 15 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures have revealed.

Data released by the government shows 11 cases were confirmed in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Saturday, April 3.

The BCP Council area recorded five new cases, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 25,174.

In the seven days leading up to March 29, the latest rolling seven-day period, 81 cases were confirmed, giving a rolling infection rate of 20.5 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area recorded six more cases, taking the total to 11,752.

The rolling infection rate stood at 23.5 per 100,000 with 89 cases confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, six cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,117.

The rolling infection rate was 22.8 per 100,000 after 41 cases were confirmed in the week before March 29.
