MORE than 101,000 people under the age of 50 have now had the first dose of the Covid vaccination, latest data shows.

Data released by NHS England shows 479,858 jabs have been given in total across the county.

Of people under the age of 50, 101,101 people have had the first jab and 10,020 have had the second.

A total of 50,940 people between 55 and59 have had the first jab. 2,743 have had the second.

In the age group 60-64, 48,465 have had the first dose and 2,076 have had the second.

Between 65 and 69, 45,574 have had the first and 1,018 have had the second dose.

Of people aged between 70 and 74, 51,097 have had the first dose, 720 have had the second.

In the age group 75 to 79, 38,959 have had the first jab, 903 have had the second.

And finally, of people aged 80 and over, 56,655 have had the first dose and 20,040 have had the second.
