OFFICERS rushed to a residential area of Christchurch following reports that a man was threatening a woman with a knife.
Dorset Police was called regarding the incident in Leyside shortly before 3.30pm on Wednesday, March 31.
A force spokeswoman said there were no reported injuries.
A man left the address and officers carried out a search of the area in a bid to locate him, the spokeswoman added.
"A 28-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place," said the spokeswoman. "He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
"The arrested man and woman are known to each other."
