ONLY 20 cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Dorset in the last 24 hours.

The latest government figures reveal that 20 new cases have been recorded across the county before 4.05pm today, Monday, March 29.

The BCP Council area recorded 14 new cases, taking the area's total to 25,109 since the start of the pandemic.

In the seven days leading up to March 24, the latest rolling seven-day period, 80 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 20.2 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area recorded six new cases, taking the total to 11,721.

The rolling rate for the local authority area stood at 31.2 per 100,000 after 118 cases were confirmed over the last week.

Elsewhere, eight cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,092.

The rolling rate was 22.2 per 100,000 after 40 cases were confirmed in the week preceding March 24.
