THE popular Hengistbury Head land train could be back in service this spring.

The service, which runs from the Hungry Hiker cafe to the beach huts at Mudeford Sandbank, has been suspended due to coronavirus restrictions.

A spokesman said a date is yet to be confirmed but "we are working toward restarting the land train service later in the spring."

The Land Rover service, largely used by beach hut owners, will restart on Monday March 29.

Pre-bookings must be made at last 48 hours before it is needed to check availability.

A spokesman said: "Please make sure we have your contact details, travel dates and hut number. Please note, the Land Rover can only take a small number of passengers due to Covid restrictions and we are taking card payments only."
