OPEN top bus services in Bournemouth are set to return to the town this Easter

Buster's Beach Bus routes from Yellow Buses will provide easy access to some of the best views across the Dorset Coast.

The company will introduce Route 11 and Route 12, two new open top bus routes, from Friday, April 2, with the frequency of routes increasing as summer progresses.

Commercial Director for Yellow Buses, Simon Newport said: "We have invested over £100,000 in newer vehicles for Buster’s Beach Bus and we are really excited about our plans for Summer 2021. We wanted to start the services at the earliest opportunity to give local residents the opportunity to get out and about as soon as the weather starts getting warmer."

Passengers on Route 11 - Bournemouth Pier to Mudeford - will travel to and from Bournemouth Pier, Boscombe Pier, Southbourne Beach, Hengistbury Head, Tuckton Bridge, Christchurch Bridges, Hoburne Holiday Park and Mudeford.

This service will initially operate every two hours on Saturdays, Sundays, bank holidays and during school holidays.

It will not operate on weekdays during school terms until the school summer holidays commence.

Route 12 entails a visit to Alum Chine then Boscombe Pier (with some journeys to Hengistbury Head).

This route offers a seat with a view where you can see the best views of the Dorset Coast, from Old Harry Rocks to the Needles on the Isle of Wight.

This service will initially operate every hour between Alum Chine, Westbourne, the Westcliff Hotels, Bournemouth Pier, East Cliff and Boscombe Pier.

Route 12 will operate hourly every day of the week from Good Friday through to the summer school holidays, during which it will increase to operate every 30 minutes.

The end to end journey time on this service is just under 60 minutes (a round trip in two hours).

Simon Newport said: "We have a great range of tickets to simply travel on Buster’s Beach Bus today, or for a couple of days. This is ideal if you are staying in a hotel on the East Cliff or in Westcliff as customers can hop on and hop off using Buster’s Beach Bus as the way into town or down to the beach. We also have tickets for families who are visiting for the day or for two or three days. All tickets can be found on our website".

English Concessionary passes can also be used on these services all day Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays and after 09.30am Monday to Friday.
