THE University Hospitals Dorset Trust had the highest daily increase of Covid deaths across England, latest figures show.

The daily update from NHS England showed 16 more people died with Covid-19 at UHD, more than any other trust.

Two of the deaths occurred on March 6, one person died on February 2, one died on February 1, one died on January 27 and 26, three fatalities occurred on January 25, three people died on January 21, two on January 17, one on January 16 and one on January 12.

It means, since the start of the pandemic, 713 people have died with the virus at UHD.

At the Dorset County Hospital, 107 people have died and 72 have at the Dorset Healthcare Trust.

Across England, a further 101 people died in hospital with the virus.

Patients were aged between 38 and 96 years old and all but five had underlying health conditions.

The deaths date back to January 5 and 18 came in the south west.
