SUNNY weather and clear skies attracted Dorset residents to Bournemouth beach just two days before the first stage of easing lockdown restrictions.
Bright sunshine enticed people from their homes today, March 6, and many enjoyed a stroll along the beach and through the gardens.
The seaside promenade was populated with walkers, cyclists and people using Beryl Bike’s new e-scooters as well as the company's bikes.
The town centre itself remained quiet, with non-essential shops remaining closed until April 12.
However, people enjoyed picnicking in the gardens and a meander through the town.
Unlike last week when it was warmer, neither the beach nor promenade were brimming with visitors today.
Rather, there were just a number of people enjoying the weather.
The first step of the easing of lockdown restrictions takes place on Monday, March 8, with some modest changes that focus on schoolchildren returning to classrooms.
People will also be allowed to leave home with their household or support bubble, if they are eligible - or with one person from outside their household - for exercise or recreation.
Under the current Covid-19 restrictions, people are still encouraged to stay local and minimise time spent outside of their homes.
The sunny spell is set to last until Tuesday, March 9 when temperatures will reach a high of eight degrees celcius.
Wednesday will bring heavy showers across the conurbation.
