The council have put up a notice saying keep your dog on a lead at all times while walking heathlands.
This to prevent the dog from straying and disturbing nesting birds.
I have put my dog on a lead bought through the post from a well known source and find the lead extends to over 80ft or more.
I see owners daily with this type of lead and their dogs run from te path into the bush edges while the owner stands on the path with the dog still under control of the lead.
Another disturbance comes from large lorries who empty the rubbish bins and do not stick to the path but take short cuts and of course evening visitors who arrive and light fires near the benches to cook food and keep warm.
