A DRIVER stopped for being on her phone denied it despite the call still being live when checked by police.

The woman was stopped by officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team in Poole on February 25.

A spokesman said: "Stopped a driver for being on her phone. When stopped she said she wasn't. I then told her her phone case was orange. She then got her orange cased phone from under her handbag.

"As she did so the screen was lit showing the call was still live. When this was pointed out to her she literally pressed the red button saying, 'no it's not'."
