A MAN was punched several times and fell to the floor, losing a tooth, when he was trying to get into his car in the car park of an East Dorset supermarket.

At around 4.25pm on Tuesday February 23 a man aged in his 20s was approached by another man in the car park of the Morrisons supermarket in Chiltern Drive.

The victim was punched a number of times, causing him to fall to the floor.

The offender is believed to have got into the front passenger seat of a black BMW, which then drove off.

He is described as white, around five feet ten inches tall and of slim build with short blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing pale blue clothing.

The victim lost one tooth as a result of the assault and another tooth was damaged.

And officers investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Police constable Erin Hill, of East Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this assault.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything relevant.”
