Naomi House & Jacksplace has launched its first virtual ‘Comedy Night In’.

The event, on Thursday 11 March from 8pm, aims to spread some cheer and raise some much needed funds during the third lockdown. It features top UK comedians: Seann Walsh, Shappi Khorsandi pictured) and Lloyd Griffith.

Naomi House & Jacksplace has teamed up with Winchester comedian, Paul McCaffrey and ‘The Confident Crow Comedy Club’, to host this special event live on Zoom. Paul has featured on well-known shows including ‘Impractical Jokers’, ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and ‘What’s Upset You Now?’, as well as touring with the likes of Sean Lock, Kevin Bridges, Michael Mcintyre, John Bishop and Lee Mack.

Show headliner, Seann Walsh, has been on just about every UK comedy TV show there is, from ‘Live at the Apollo’ and ‘The Royal Variety Show’, to ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ and ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’. Lloyd Griffith has starred on ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’, ‘Comedy Central Live at the Comedy Store’, ‘Roast Battle’ and more and many will know him as one of the hosts of Soccer AM and as the support act on two of Jack Whitehall’s arena tours. She also went to Winchester University so knows the area well.

Paul McCaffrey, said: “As a Winchester resident, I have been aware of Naomi House & Jacksplace and the fantastic work that they do for some time. I was very honoured to be asked to help out with organising this event and hosting the night. I can’t wait to bring you these amazing acts over Zoom on March 11th, for what promises to be a very special evening.”

Lucy Gray, Regional Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, added: “With the landscape of fundraising ever-changing during Covid-19, we are so happy to be offering this unique online event for our supporters and to share some laughs with them at this time with the fantastic line-up of comedians. We also dare our supporters to purchase a VIP ticket for the event which means they will appear in the comedians’ view on Zoom, so in the firing line for lots of banter and jokes!

“I’d also like to say, on behalf of everyone at the hospices, thank you so much to Paul and all of the comedians for giving up your time and efforts to raise money for Naomi House & Jacksplace – we are incredibly grateful for your support at this time.”

Naomi & Jack’s Comedy Night In will be a live broadcast on Zoom for supporters to watch from the comfort of their own homes. The event will take the format of a traditional comedy show where audiences can sit back and laugh out loud, just from home.

Tickets are £6 per person, £10 per couple and £15 per household .which includes access to the online event, plus there is the opportunity to buy ‘front row’ tickets which include some classic comedy night treats and the chance to be seen by the comedians on Zoom.
