WENT with my wife to the beach at Boscombe Pier, parked on the seafront and walked towards Bournemouth Pier and back.

Lots of cars parked along the front as it was a lovely sunny day.

I noticed about 75 per cent of the cars did not have local registrations.

I know some local cars are bought elsewhere, as mine was, but a large proportion must have been from further afield.

When we are being told to stay local, it is very irksome to see this, as many many people are obeying the rules.

A DVLA check at the pier by camera would have had a major effect on the travellers as it shows home address to the police.

What is the point in having these laws on lockdown if they are not enforced, or perhaps the council were more concerned with the revenue from the takeaway outlets, which were open and doing a brisk trade.
