POLICE, who are investigating reports of a man wielding a pole in Bournemouth town centre street, believe parked cars may have been damaged in the incident.

Bournemouth police were called to Albert Road in the evening of Friday, February 5, and early hours of Saturday, February 6.

A 30-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour with intent to cause violence. He has been released under investigation while enquires continue.

However, now a Dorset Police spokesman said: "Following enquiries, we believe some cars in the area may have been reportedly damaged during the incident.

"If your vehicle was damaged in the Albert Road area during the relevant timeframe and you have not already spoken to officers, please contact Dorset Police."
