FEWER than 60 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures have revealed.

Data released by the government shows 57 cases were recorded across the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Monday.

The BCP Council area recorded 36 new cases, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 24,648.

In the seven days leading up to February 24, the latest rolling seven-day period, 352 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 89 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area recorded 21 new cases, taking the total to 11,243.

The rolling rate stood at 73.2 per 100,000 people with 277 cases confirmed in a week.

Elsewhere, 13 cases were recorded in the New Forest, taking the total to 5,910.

The rolling rate was 57.2 per 100,000 with 103 cases confirmed in the week leading up to February 24.
