A FORMER bingo hall in Bournemouth is currently under offer after closing in 2020.

The Buzz Bingo hall in Christchurch Road has been marketed and is currently under offer.

The hall closed in July last year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

At the time, CEO of Buzz Bingo Chris Matthews said: “As many of you will understand, with our clubs closed since March 21, coronavirus has had a significant impact on our business and on the entire leisure and hospitality industry.

“We have therefore had to make some difficult decisions about how we move forward and ensure that we protect the future of Buzz Bingo.

“It is, therefore, with sadness that I need to share with you that 26 of our clubs will not reopen.”

Since then, the hall was put on the market by Savills, on a freehold tenure.

Describing the property on Rightmove, Savills said: “The property fronts Christchurch Road, occupying a central position and comprises of a six storey, brick-built building under a flat roof.

“Internally at ground floor level there is a reception and amusement arcade located towards the front of the property, along with a substantially sized main hall and ancillary areas and customer WC’s to the rear.

“There are also additional customer WC’s at first floor level, along with staff facilities and offices.

“The circle level comprises of tiered seating and rear ancillary rooms, however both areas were not previously used by the former tenant.

“The property is served by mains electricity, gas and drainage. The main hall has also been fitted within the last three years with a new air heating system.

“Air conditioning is provided at the front of the building at ground floor level.

“No detailed inspections were tested and carried out by us on any of the services or items of equipment, therefore no warranty can be given with regards to their service ability, efficiently or adequacy for their purpose.”

Savills also confirmed the property had a rateable value of £78,500.
