A LITTLE more than 100 patients were admitted to Dorset hospitals with coronavirus in the space of a week.

Figures released by NHS England shows, between February 15 and February 21, 109 patients were admitted to the county’s hospitals with Covid-19.

At the University Hospitals Dorset Trust, 76 patients were admitted, including 20 on February 17 and 18 on February 15.

Sixteen people were admitted to the Dorset County Hospital with coronavirus, including five on February 15, and 17 were admitted to the Dorset Healthcare Trust.

As of February 23, 50 patients were occupying beds with the virus at UHD, including 10 who required mecahnical ventilation.

The Dorset County Hospital had 25 coronavirus patients, two on mechanical ventialtion and the Dorset Healthcare Trust had 11, none on mechanical ventilation.
