AB FAB fans have the chance to own an item from Joanna Lumley’s personal jewellery collection as part of an online auction raising money for charity.

The auction is in aid of Wareham-based conservation charity Butterfly Conservation.

Joanna Lumley has donated a nature-themed brooch to the auction, which features fishes swimming in a stream.

The item comes with a handwritten note, in which the actress and charity campaigner wrote: "This is my adored fish brooch which I wear on coats and jerseys – it comes to you with much affection; and hopes for the future of butterflies everywhere on earth. xx Joanna Lumley."

Head of Fundraising at Butterfly Conservation, Sandra Muldoon, said: "We can’t thank Joanna Lumley, and everyone else who has donated an item, enough.

"There really is something for everyone – whatever your budget and regardless of whether you’re interested in butterflies and moths or not."

The brooch is one of over 50 lots being auctioned by the charity.

It is hoped the auction will raise £10,000 to help the charity continue its vital work of protecting butterflies and moths around the UK.

The auction takes place online from now until April 9 and people are being invited to place bids on a range of items and experiences.

This includes weekends away, original artwork and a chauffeur driven trip in the 1925 ‘Avengers’ three litre Bentley to a private SSSI valley.

In light of the pandemic and the difficulties it has imposed, the auction will be one of several virtual events taking place throughout 2021 to raise money and awareness of the work Butterfly Conservation does.
